Organic Response believes we all have a responsibility to ensure a sustainable future for our planet and future generations. Through our smart lighting solution, we contribute tangible, meaningful change.
Climate roadmap
The near and long-term goals of Fagerhult Groups sustainability initiatives are:
to reduce direct and indirect GHG emissions* (Scope 1 and Scope 2) by 70 per cent by 2030, compared with 2021;
to reduce other direct and indirect GHG emissions (Scope 3) by more than 30 per cent by 2030, compared with 2021; and
to achieve net-zero GHG emissions for the Fagerhult Group by 2045.
The Group continuously sets new goals and develops existing goals by breaking them down into local activities and initiatives. This is important for keeping our sustainability efforts relevant.
*GHG emissions stand for Greenhouse Gas emissions. These are gases that trap heat in the Earth’s atmosphere, leading to the greenhouse effect and ultimately contributing to global warming and climate change. Common greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and fluorinated gases.
SBTi - Science Based Target initiative
Energy-efficiency is high on the agenda to reach the climate goals and the lighting industry has a part to play, accounting for approximately 15 percent of the energy consumption in a building. By using the latest smart lighting solutions, users can potentially reduce energy consumption by up to 90 percent
“We are very proud to have our targets validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative. This validation reaffirms our unwavering commitment to addressing climate change and ensures that our actions are grounded in science as well as consistent with the goals of the Paris Agreement. We will follow up and report on our progress continuously in a transparent way,” says Bodil Sonesson, CEO and President Fagerhult Group.
Fagerhult Group’s sustainability agenda “Positive Change for Better Living” is an integrated part of the business strategy and daily operations. It also defines the four focus areas with long-term ambitions and defined activities; Responsible relations, Responsible operations, Circular solutions and Knowledge leader.
UN’s sustainability goals show the way
Our sustainability agenda coordinates our work in ensuring that we are a successful and sustainable Group that contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the EU’s Green Deal and the Paris Agreement.
From the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, we have identified two where Fagerhult Group can have the most impact as well as the greatest opportunity to make a positive contribution.
No. 11 Sustainable cities and communities Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
No. 12 Responsible consumption and production Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
